About the Paonia Food Movement

The Paonia Food Movement is a community-powered food network connecting local farmers, producers, and neighbors throughout the North Fork Valley and beyond. Our mission is simple: make it easier for people to access fresh, locally grown food while creating reliable markets for the farmers and food makers who grow it.

What began with handwritten order cards and a small circle of producers has grown into a thriving food hub. Today we work with a diverse network of farms, bakers, ranchers, and artisans who care deeply about the land and the food they produce. From vibrant seasonal vegetables and pasture-raised meats to fresh bread, eggs, and prepared meals, every item we offer comes from people we know and trust.

We operate as a private membership association, which allows our community to participate directly in a local food system built on relationships, transparency, and shared values. Members gain access to a marketplace of locally produced foods while helping sustain small farms and strengthen the regional economy.

At its heart, the Paonia Food Movement is about more than just buying food—it’s about rebuilding a culture around local agriculture. It’s about knowing where your food comes from, supporting the people who grow it, and creating a resilient food system that nourishes both the land and the community.

Together, we’re building something that feels both old-fashioned and revolutionary: a food system rooted in trust, connection, and good food.
