Our story began in 2020, when Jacob Bower joined Rubicon Coffee as an apprentice under the guidance of his father-in-law and Rubicon’s founder Jay Bagley. Over four years, Jacob immersed himself in every aspect of the craft—from sourcing and roasting to customer experience and business strategy. In April 2024, he took the reins and began a new chapter, purchasing the business and reimagining it with a fresh identity.
By July 2025, Rubicon became Bower Coffee—a name that honors roots, growth, and the shelter we build through connection. We remain deeply committed to organic coffee, sustainable practices, and the relationships that make this work meaningful. Every batch we roast is a tribute to the farmers who cultivate with care, the customers who support us, and the community we serve.
