Why we love Nordic Fox Farm:
The masterminds behind Nordic Fox Farm are Mike and Sara Neil. They are homesteaders growing and living off-grid on 42 beautiful acres just south of Crawford, Colorado. Their time is happily filled with the work of building their dream life there. On any given day you can find them growing medicinal and culinary herbs to share with you, stewarding at-risk plant populations, spending time with their animals, building their home, and creating gorgeous pieces of art. They strive to create seasonal, small-batch products to enhance your life as well as unique home goods to decorate your space.
Nordic Fox Farm utilized beyond organic growing practices. They place an emphasis on regenerative agriculture that gives back to the soil and land that they love.
They also produce the Tending Seeds podcast which covers a wide range of topics about gardening, homesteading, and herbalism.
Sara has completed a 1000 hour certificate in herbalism from the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine and continues to pursue new paths of learning and study with her peers and elders. Plant conservation and plant medicine accessibility are both passions of hers, and because of that she is a member of United Plant Savers and Herbalists Without Borders. She also served on the leadership board for the Tennessee chapter of the American Herbalists Guild from 2018 until moving to Colorado at the end of 2022.
Mike has been creating and inventing since he was a teenager and holds several manufacturing patents. A machinist by trade, he has also fallen in love with woodworking in more recent years. He is constantly innovating and improving all of the many moving pieces of their homestead, figuring out how to accomplish our goals using repurposed materials wherever he can and streamlining our farming efforts.
