Gleaning is a term used to describe the act of harvesting fruit from trees that would otherwise go unpicked and utilizing them for good, for example donating them to homeless shelters, or those in need. Last week my partner and I gleaned apples from an abandoned orchard. So many apples were harvested that pigs were fed, homeless were fed, and even the volunteers got to take a big box home! I'm sharing my gleaned apples with you. These apples were picked with love from a farm that has not been touched with pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizer for years, they are just as nature intended them to be 🙂
Enjoy!
