Thistle Whistle Farm is nestled in the outskirts of Hotchkiss, Colorado. Owners Mark Waltermire and Katie Dean, along with their wonderful staff and volunteers are passionate about growing food. One of the farms unique aspects is its unusual species. At Thistle Whistle you can find rare plants, such as the world’s hotest pepper, spilanthes, and papalo. Hundreds of different heirloom tomatoes and unique peppers are among the farms specialties. Mark also likes to try growing new unusual and fun items every year.
The farm also hosts many different educational programs through out the summer including; English as a second language nutrition classes; The Sauce Plot kids camp; and local school programs, elementary through high school.
